The Exhibition

Haw Contemporary is pleased to present an expansive solo exhibition from Julie Blackmon, opening October 7 and running through December 31. An opening reception with Julie will be held from 5-8PM at the gallery on October 7.
Entitled Metaverse, the show winds through all six exhibition spaces in the building, creating an immersive world for the work to live and be viewed. In addition to presenting the twelve works Blackmon has produced in the time since her last exhibition at the gallery, we will be showing a number of classic works, along with video and installations - including a full-scale recreation of 2021’s Costco in the middle gallery downstairs, and a virtual boat ride down the Finley River, the setting for Flatboat, Paddleboard, Smoke, Night Swim, River, and Lindenlure.
Haw Contemporary has produced a signed, limited edition exhibition catalog that will accompany all collector acquisitions during the run of the show, along with a copy of Blackmon’s newest monograph, entitled Midwest Materials.
